LG Chem to Collect Innovative Technological Ideas from Startups

LG Chem announced on March 16 that it will hold the first Global Innovation Challenge (GIC) for startups around the world.

Through the GIC, LG Chem intends to expand its existing open innovation based on industry-academic cooperation to the global startup sector and secure promising technologies for speedy commercialization.

From March 16 to May 1, LG Chem will receive innovative technological ideas in a total of four fields -- eco-friendly plastics, renewable hydrogen, carbon utilization, and next-generation sustainable battery materials.

Startups around the world can participate in the contest by proposing ideas for the development of sustainable next-generation innovative technologies. They can easily apply to the event through its official website.

LG Chem plans to form a group of open innovation experts from the United States, Europe, and Korea to select startups that mix well with the company's mid- to long-term strategies and can create practical synergies with its current businesses.
